Art goes digital with the Fisher-Price Splatster
It would appear as though the days of getting a paint by numbers set or watercolors have long since passed us by. Toys like the Fisher-Price Splatster have taken art to the next level, and it is actually a welcome change. Instead of the home being covered from one end to the next with paints, crayons and markers, cleanup is as easy as turning off the TV.
When the Wii video game system hit the market, it brought to light a whole new idea for video entertainment. Instead of having to use a joystick, people are able to control games by merely holding a controller and creating motion. This has changed the way just about any video game company treats their games now. This technology has shifted down into children's games with things like the Fisher-Price Splatster.
Painting has always been a favorite pastime of children. Unfortunately, for most parents, this usually involves more time cleaning up than actual playtime for the children. With the Fisher-Price Splatster, the children can paint for as long as they want with no mess and no damage to any part of the home.
The game has three modes of play: spin art, splat studios and splat arcade. The game connects to your TV with no problems and is controlled with a wireless paint brush. Depending upon the mode that the child was in, they can create different artwork including of course, splat. If they were just a few years older and putting these creations down on actual canvas, you might be able to claim that they were the next Rembrandt.
It is always great for a parent when an exciting game comes out that doesn’t mean that the house will get destroyed in the process. It is also nice to know that some games can actually serve a purpose other than passing idle time. When a game like this comes out that the children will truly be interested in, it is a must to go under the tree during the Christmas season.
